In the last election for Supervisor, 2nd District, the incumbent listed herself on the ballot as the “tax payer’s advocate” and that designation was challenged by her opponents. Would a “tax payer’s advocate” spend $5,800 of public money to send out a campaign mailer? I don’t think so.
It is my contention that the mailing of 16,000 mailers at a cost of $5,800 is a criminal act and should be prosecuted as such. Interestingly, the official charged with prosecuting this crime also benefited from the crime. That means nothing is going to happen. How does that make you, the hard working citizen, feel? I hope it angers you. I hope it makes you angry enough to help me by sharing my website, campaign Facebook page and any other social media I have with your friends. I hope this convinces you to vote for integrity over greed. I hope it teaches you why you need less career politicians in these positions.
It is time the voters step up to the plate and eliminate the corruption with the power they have. As citizens we all have the power of our vote. We can and should vote out corrupt politicians like the 2nd District Supervisor. This is not the first time one of the Supervisors has done something like this. To top it off, a vote was done to declare this type of thing unethical in the future and it was voted down 3-2. That should also make you angry. You should be showing that anger at the ballot box.
